After a long illness, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2015.
Born in Wilmington, Delaware on June 17, 1936, Fred served in the United State Air Force as a Morse Code Breaker. He also worked for the United States Postal Service for 31 years, and retired in 1991. He was an avid bowler and loved fishing at the "pond" with his buddies.
Fred was the son of the late Frederick and Dorothy Huber. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Huber, his brother, Thomas Huber, and sister, Pat Carter. He is survived by his children, George Shell (Terriann), Eileen Hare, Kathleen Reamer (William), and Jake Huber, III (Grace); his daughter-in-law, Sandy Huber; his siblings, Judy Murray, and Grant and George Huber. Fred loved being around his 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will take place at Elsmere Volunteer Fire Company, Rambo Hall, 1107 Kirkwood Highway, Elsmere, on Friday, October 16 from 6:00-7:00 pm. The memorial service will be at the fire hall at 7:00 pm. A reception will follow the service.
