Fred graduated from A. I. DuPont High School. He worked for DuPont at Willow Bank for 28 years, and as a New Castle County Crossing Guard for 5 years.

He enjoyed sports and played for various softball leagues in Delaware.
Fred was an avid sports fan throughout his life. He looked forward to cheering on his Eagles, the Phillies, Notre Dame, and the Delaware Blue Hens. His true passion sports were softball, darts, and horseshoes.
He had great love for his family, friends, and was the number 1 fan of his grandsons when they played football and basketball, and his granddaughter's basketball.
Frederick was the son of the late Florence R. Springer and Frederick W. Kellner. He was also preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Joan and Robert Kurtz. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara (Bonaventure) Kellner; daughters, Becky (Ron) Taylor, and Lorraine Kellner; his grandchildren, Jesse Taylor, Justin Taylor, and Hailee Kellner.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere on Monday, January 23, 2012 at 1 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday morning. Interment is private.
