George L. Nennstiehl

1933-2024

George Nennstiehl, 90, passed away peacefully at Sunrise of Granite Run after a short illness. Born to George F. Nennstiehl and Helen (Dougherty) Nennstiehl, George spent the last 30 years in the Pocono Mountains with his beloved wife Catherine "Kit" Nennstiehl.

George was a proud graduate of Salesianum High (8th & West) and was quickly recruited by Forms Inc. shortly after graduation. He worked as a salesman for years before starting his own company, Spirit Enterprises, which he ran with his wife until he retired.

George would go on to win many sales awards and was known for his charming nature and sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen (Dougherty) Nennstiehl and George F. Nennstiehl, along with his sister, Nancy Pegan. George is survived by his wife, Kit Sweeney Nennstiehl, his niece Kathy Jankowski, his cousin Kathleen Reynolds, and many nieces and nephews, including Gerard (Michelle) Lennon, Bill Lennon, Joe (Andi) Lennon, Paul Lennon (Julie), Thom Lennon, Chris Lennon, and Annie Lennon (Kris Miller). He is also survived by his niece Kate Sweeney-Simmons.

The family would like to particularly thank Michelle Lennon for the love and support she showed George over the past 2 years and for guiding his care and navigating the many health issues that George faced at the end of his life.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service for George at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilm., DE 19805, on Monday, Jul 29 at 11:00am. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00am-11:00am. Interment will take place at Cathedral Cemetery.
