George Walsh
Age 85, died February 15, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by his family.
George was born and raised in Wilmington, DE. He proudly served in the U. S. Army in WWII. He retired from the Urie and Blanton Co. in 2002.
He was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather.
The family would like to thank the St. Francis ICU staff for their special care.
He was the son of the late George and Catherine (Pussey) Walsh. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Kathleen (Lynch) Walsh; sister, Phyllis (Bill) Jordan; children, Lynn Walsh Swiatek, George (Jay) Walsh, Jr. (Stephanie), Nancy McCaffery (Jerry), James Walsh (Terri); grandchildren, Melissa Blanchet (Chris), Edward Swiatek, Jr. ( Alicia), Christopher Swiatek, Michele Walsh, Jill (Andrew) Swan, Josephine (Martin) LaRue, George Walsh, III, Catherine Walsh, Kevin McCaffery, Mary Kate McCaffery, Connor McCaffery, Jessica Walsh, and Brian Walsh; and 8 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Elizabeth R. C. Church, Oak & Clayton Sts., Wilmington on Monday, February 20, 2012 at 10 a.m. Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere on Sunday evening from 4-6 pm. Interment is private.
