"Gerry" as her family and friends knew her, of Newark, DE, died December 19th as the result of injuries she sustained in a tragic motorcycle accident. The accident occurred in Florida on November 14th.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware, September 23, 1960, to Richard and Stella Seery, Gerry was an excellent student. She graduated from St Hedwig Catholic High School in 1977. She went on to accept a position working for the state of Delaware where she had a successful career as a senior counselor at Webb Correctional Institute, retiring in 2009 after 28 years of service.

She loved everything about beaches, the sand, the ocean, and most of all, basking in the warm sun. Above all else Gerry was a wonderful and loving mother to her son, Joseph, and daughter, Stacy. She made many sacrifices in her lifetime for her children and always made sure they knew she loved them. She considered them her greatest accomplishment.

Geraldine will be lovingly remembered by her son, Joseph Jerry Gregg; daughter, Stacy Briana Gregg; her parents, Richard J. and Stella Seery; her brother, Richard F. Seery; and her sisters, Donna L. Saunders and Barbara A. Russell. Nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends will also forever remember her.

Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of Gerry's life and prayer service at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere on Tuesday, December 28th at 10 am. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday evening from 6 pm to 8 pm. Interment in All Saints Cemetery, Newark.
