Obituary
Geraldine "Gerri" Mae Moore (nee Seutter) of New Castle, DE passed away peacefully on the sunny, beautiful afternoon of Thursday, May 12, 2016, following a short illness. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Wilmington, DE on September 1, 1930, Gerri was the daughter of the late Andrew and Eva Seutter. She was a proud graduate of both Conrad High School and Wilmington General Hospital School of Nursing where she was Class President. She led a varied and interesting nursing career which included time in operating rooms, as well as, caring for several prominent Delawarean families as a private duty nurse. Gerri was very caring, giving and unconditionally supportive. She was the proud matriarch of her family. Nothing gave her more joy than spending time with her family members, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends in her building and at the "center".
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years William Moore, Sr. in 2002. She is survived by her three children William Moore, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Bear, Wayne Moore and his wife Jana (Reba) of New Castle, and Cynthia Talley of New Castle. She is also survived by her three brothers Edward Seutter of Hockessin, Carl and his wife Barbara of Washington and Richard and his wife Tracy of Arizona. Grandchildren, Doug Moore, Jason Moore, Kyle Moore and his girlfriend Lauren Howard, Lisa Talley and her fiancé Leonard Karpen, Lynn Gallagher and her husband Kevin and two great-grandchildren Luciana Talley and Aubrey Moore. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of the ICU Department and Department of Pastoral Care at St. Francis Hospital for their competent and compassionate care.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 12:00 noon at the Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 34 W. 6th St., New Castle DE where friends may visit the family from 11:00sm-12:00 noon. Interment will follow in the Glebe Cemetery, New Castle.
