Died peacefully on July 12, 2010 at her home in Newark Manor.
Born in New Castle, DE. As a young woman she worked at the Post House in Wilmington where she made many life long friends, and later she worked for Acme Markets. She enjoyed cooking, reading mysteries, but most of all spending time with family and friends. She and her husband, Albert, were longtime members of the Parish of the Resurrection.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Albert Nai, and her daughter, Linda Nai Ward. Gladys is survived by her son, Lawrence Nai, his wife Sharon, and their son Kevin; her grandson, Jamie Brittingham, his wife Debra, and great grandson Bryan; her granddaughter, Dawn Brittingham Evans, her husband Tim, and her great grandson Nathan; her granddaughter, Darla Ward Doss, her husband Mike, and their children Amanda and Megan; and her son-in-law Dar Ward. She also leaves behind many loving in-laws, cousins, family members, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony's R. C. Church, 901 North Dupont St., Wilmington on Thursday, July 15th at 11 a.m. Friends may call at St. Anthony's R. C. Church on Thursday morning from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interment in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions be made in her memory to the Mill Creek Fire Co., 3900 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, DE 19808, or the Susan G. Komen Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309.
