Gladys Dorothy Richards
Gladys died February 19, 2014 at Wilmington Hospital. She was born October 6, 1929 to loving parents, Florence Connor and Halvor Neptune Richards, in the beautiful St. John's US Virgin Islands.
She was one of eighteen siblings and was blessed with the birth of her own son, Sanseric MacQuire, on June 26, 1952.
Gladys became a Nurse's Aide in 1948 and serviced passionately at Triboro and Queens Hospitals for 46 years until she retired in 1994. She loved to travel and her favorite destination was to visit her home in the Virgin Islands.
Gladys is survived and mourned by her son, Sanseric MacQuire Powell and his wife, Debra Powell; her brother, Alva Richards and his wife; her sister, Lucia David; and a host of other loving family members and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service at Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel, 2220 N. DuPont Hwy., New Castle, on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at 11 am. Friends may call at the Gracelawn Memorial Park Chapel from 10-11 am on Wednesday morning. Interment in adjoining cemetery.
