Obituary

Glenda L. Kotowski
Age 87 of New Castle
Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on January 30, 2024.
Glenda was born in Louisville, KY to the late James T. and Rose (Milliner) Lillard. The family moved to Delaware when she was a child for her father's work. Glenda was a proud 1954 graduate of St. Paul's High School. On October 15,1955 Glenda married the love of her life, Anthony J. Kotowski, Jr. Together they shared almost 60 years of marriage.
Glenda believed in a life of service. She dedicated herself to the betterment of her family and community. She was a lifelong member of St. Peter the Apostle Parish. Glenda volunteered in almost every capacity she could ranging from cleaning the church after Sunday mass to an active member of the carnival committee. She was pivotal in the reading and lunch programs at the school, was the secretary for the Home and School Association for many years and was always happy to be a chaperone of any field trip for her children. Glenda was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2856 Ladies Auxiliary as well as the Polish Falcons of America Nest 20. She used her exceptional work ethic and organizational skills to plan the yearly trips for Knights of Columbus Eastern Bowling Tournament as well as being the Recording Secretary for the Polish Falcons for many years.
Glenda lived a life on the go and was lovingly referred to as the "activity director and organizer" of everything. She loved bowling for the Knights as well as cheering on her husband's team. She was an avid card player and founding member of the "Wanderers". Glenda loved reading, cooking, and especially traveling. She traveled the world with her husband, seeing numerous places including Ireland, Greece, Russia, Poland, Italy, and the Mediterranean. She was the true matriarch of the family and a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Anyone who knew her was always treated like family.
In addition to her parents, Glenda was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Kotowski Jr.; her brothers, Charles Lillard and Thomas J. Lillard; and her great grandson, Aiden Marquis.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Judith Marquis (Michael); Donald Kotowski (Laura), Jacqueline Lee (Timothy), Anthony Kotowski III (Beth), and Theresa "Terrie" O'Keefe; her 11 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren whom she adored. Glenda is also survived by her sister, Edwina Richards (Don) and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
