Gordon P. Mays of New Castle, age 76, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2016.
Gordy was the son of the late Clarence and Hazel Mays. He was an Army veteran and retired from DuPont's Edgemoor plant.

Gordy enjoyed the outdoors and was always either hunting, fishing or crabbing in his best secret spots. He was a woodcrafter whose homemade items adorn many homes of family and friends. He was also a handyman who would volunteer his services to anyone who needed help.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronny and his beloved wife of 41 years, Theresa, in 2009.
He is survived by his daughter, Carla; grandchildren, Julia and Corey; his brother, Barry (Susanna). He will also be missed by his nephews, close cousin, Elaine and many friends.

Visitation will be at Krienen Griffith Funeral Home, 34 West 6th Street New Castle, DE 19720, Saturday September 24 from 11 am to 12 noon. Service will take place at the funeral home at 12 noon. Burial will be private.
