Obituary

Harry W. Blouse, Jr.
Age 80 of Newark

Passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025.

Harry was born in Marcus Hook to the late Harry and Pauline Blouse. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the U.S Army and faithfully served his country for four years. In 1968 Harry married the love of his life, Ruth Anne Hick. Together they shared 54 loving years raising together their family.

When Harry returned home from the service, his career began at Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO) later moving on to Delaware City. He was a hardworking and dedicated employee working for many years retiring as a Foreman. He was very proud of his career and made many lifelong friends at the "Plant".

After Harry retired, he spent as much time as he could at the family beach house in Broadkill Beach. He was active and social in the community and his family and neighbors affectionally referred to him as the "Mayor of Broadkill". He loved to help his neighbors. He was always there with a smile, to bring over a meal, and lend a helping hand with any project. Harry was known for his love of Philadelphia Sports, his generous nature, and most of all the love of his family. He was a doting husband, father, and grandfather that will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Anne Blouse, and his brother, Richard Blouse.

He leaves behind his children, Amy Smith (Bill) and Harry Blouse, III (Susan); his grandchildren, Leah (Connor), Hunter, and Lily; and his great grandchild, Lakelynn. Harry is also survived by his brother, John Blouse (Eileen); his sister-in-law, Valerie Davidson; and a loving extended family and devoted friends.
