Age 95, died at home on Friday, October 26, 2012.

Helen was a homemaker and especially enjoyed cooking and baking and spending time with her family. She was a lifetime member of St. Hedwig Church, Holy Rosary Society, Blessed Mother Sodality, and the VFW Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Bazydlo, Sr.; her mother, Sophie Brozdowski Witkowski (who died in 1918); Rose Chorzelewski Witkowski, the mother who raised her; her father Walter Witkowski; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Leokadia and Teofil Bazydlo; her sister-in-law, Regina Wapniarek; her brothers, Anthony, William, Thomas, John, Francis, and Felix Witkowski; and her sisters, Ethel Feret, Sophie Sczubelek, Josephine Weaver.

Helen is survived by her son, John J. Bazydlo (Karen) of Milville, DE; her daughters, Jane F. Bazydlo and Joanne M. Laurent (Jim) of Wilmington; her granddaughters, Megan E. and Sarah A. Laurent; her brothers, Stanley and Joseph Witkowski of Wilmington; her sisters, Jeanette Steen of Woodcrest, and Eleanore Walker of Seminole, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Seasons Hospice, Sr. Theresa, Sue, Cookie, and Fay for the care and compassion shown to our mom.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Hedwig Church, Linden & Harrison Sts., Wilmington, on Fri., Nov. 2, at 9:30 am. Relatives and friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, on Thurs., Nov. 1, from 6:00-8:00 pm. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.
