Helen Dorothy (Figas) Flanigan

Age 81, died peacefully at the Millcroft Health Care Center on Monday, December 13, 2010.

Helen retired with 12 years of service from the Christiana School District. She was employed at various schools in food service.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Knights of Columbus Bishop Becker Council. She enjoyed gardening, walking, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband William F. Flanigan, Jr., of Newark, DE; her daughters, Sharon Ohrt and her husband Gunther of Elkton, MD, and Maureen Allaband and her husband Harvey; her sister, Mary Mahon of Ocean View, DE; her grandson, Gunther Nicholas of Dunkirk, MD, granddaughters, Heidi of Springfield, MA, Stephanie of Elkton, MD, Nicole of Elkton, MD, Kelly of Elkton, MD, Jessica of Elkton, MD, and Dana of Elkton, MD; and her great-grandson Derek of Dunkirk, MD.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Angels, 82 Possum Park Rd., Newark on Saturday morning, December 18th at 10 a.m. Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home,1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere on Friday evening, December 17th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Interment in All Saints Cemetery, Newark, DE.
