Irene May Diffley
Age 90, passed away peacefully at Embracing Hospice in Lawrenceville, GA on March 31, 2009.
Born in Donaghadee, Northern Ireland on April 4, 1918, Irene came to America with her husband, John and three children in 1952. Irene and John raised five children and because of John's work on many large public works projects the family spent time in many different locations during her 57 years in America. She spent most of those years in Carmel NY, Hancocks Bridge NJ, Stuart FL, and New Castle DE.
With her gentle soul and love of all animals and nature, she brought peace to everyone she met. Irene will be greatly missed by all the lives she has touched.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband, John, and daughter, Sheila. She leaves cherished memories to her children, John and his wife Martha, Roma Geary, Andrew and his wife Nancy, and Rosemary Diffley; sister, Muriel Sliwa of Australia; and brother Andrew White of England; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service at Immanuel Episcopal Church on the Green, 100 Harmony Rd., New Castle, DE on Wednesday April 8th at 11 a.m. Interment following the service in the Glebe Cemetery, New Castle, DE.
