Jacqueline Lee (Freeze) Schwander
Age 74 of Georgetown
Passed away with her her loving husband and family by her side on July 11, 2024.
Jackie was born December 18, 1949 to the late Charles W. and Caroline A. (Wincek) Freeze in Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania. She was a 1967 graduate for Sharon Hill High School.
Jackie met the love of her life, George Schwander, in 1967. To say they had a whirl wind romance would be an understatement. When George saw Jackie while in Philadelphia on a training trip with the Navy, he knew she was the one. Despite Jackie insisting he preferred her red head friend. George's response said with a laugh was "I only want you!" . Just four short months later George mailed her an engagement ring and asked for her hand in marriage. They were wed on June 1, 1968 in Norwood, PA and the rest is history. They shared 56 years of love and happiness raising their family.
Jackie retired from K-Mart after 10 years to pursue a career with the Department of Veterans Affairs. She worked at the Medical Regional Office in Wilmington. While there she furthered her education and became a certified nursing and medical supply technician. Jackie retired in 2005 after many years of dedicated service.
She loved to shop and play bingo and especially loved her dog, Charlie. Jackie enjoyed camping and being one with nature. But most of all Jackie cherished the time she spent with her many friends and adoring family. She will be greatly missed.
She leaves behind her loving husband, George Schwander; her daughter, Tina M. King; her son, William J. Schwander Sr (Carol); her grandchildren, Kristopher Krajewski, William J. Schwander Jr., Kevin R. Schwander, Katelyn "Kat" King; and great granddaughter, Lilliana Krajewski. Jackie is also survived by her brother-in-law, James Schwander (Cherie); her sister, Deena Allen Lindsey (Steven); and granddaughter, Mariana Blakely.
