Obituary

James Charles Casula, age 73, passed away 9/11/2019 at Christiana Hospital.

Born, October 10, 1945 to Mildred Alice Ruth and Thomas Alfred Casula. He served as a Private First Class in the United States Marine Corps in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He was a grocery manager for Supermarket General Corporations at Pathmark. After retirement from SGC, he worked as an appliance delivery installer for Hawkins & Sons; employee for Dollar General and drove and operated an ice cream truck known as King Kool.

Jim was a graduate of Henry C. Conrad High School where he played baseball and spent time driving his baby blue '68 firebird named JC's Little Blue Angel.

His favorite hobbies were watching baseball, football, horse racing and predicting the winners of the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes 7 years in a row. Jimmy was an avid bowler who played in many leagues with a consistent average above 200. He was a proud and bragging Pop-pop of his 3 grandchildren. He loved spending time with his dog Tawny, his recent stray cat Rocky, and feeding the squirrels. He'd very often be seen walking up and down Kirkwood Highway and was always offering a friendly hand to anyone who needed his help. Jimmy won the title of 1st place winning team of the "Family Thanksgiving Billiard Tournament" in 2005 with his brother-in-law Lou and in 2012 with his brother Wayne.

He is survived by daughter, Christina Casula (Cheyenne) Gross; three grandchildren, Savannah (14), Memphis (12) & Boston (9) of New York City; three siblings, Karen (Ed) Hawkins, Wayne Casula, Jean (Lou) LaPenta of Delaware; nieces and nephews, Luciano LaPenta, Matthew Hawkins and Angela LaPenta of Delaware.
