Obituary

Passed away on Sunday December 11, 2016, peacefully at home with his loving family by his side.
Jimmy was born on November 11, 1959 in Elsmere, DE to the late Louis and Mary Costanzo. He graduated from Conrad High School and was a member of the St. Anthony's Club and a parishioner at St Thomas the Apostle Church. He fulfilled a lifelong career as a cement finisher, running his own construction company (Primitive Construction) then Local 2, and Local 699 for 36 years.
Jimmy enjoyed spending time cooking, eating, and entertaining at his home in his backyard that he spoke so highly of, which he made into his family's own "little paradise". His favorite time of year was Christmas where everyone was welcome to his home to eat and celebrate, and he loved to start "household projects" two weeks before the holiday every year, which made decorating for Christmas a challenge. He also loved going to Wildwood, NJ with family and friends. Jimmy loved to dance with his wife Barbara and listen to their favorite artist, Rod Stewart. He also loved shooting pool with friends and family, especially his three girls that he "taught very well" as he was proud to say.
Jimmy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was an amazing friend to all. He was known for going out of his way to help anyone and everyone at any time, and would give a complete stranger the shirt off of his back, never expecting anything in return. He will also be remembered for his good nature and strong work ethic.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 46 years, Barbara who he always called (Chub and My Luv); his daughters, Crystal Crossan (Erik), Jessie Costanzo, and Jamie Brown (Stephen). His grandchildren, Isabella, Alexia, Scotty, Meela; all of his "grand-doggies". He is also survived by his loving brother, Raymond Costanzo (Sharon) whom during Jimmy's illness didn't leave his side; many nieces and nephews; and loving aunts and uncles; and his seven other siblings.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church, 301 N Bancroft Pkwy, Wilmington, DE 19805, on Saturday December 17, 2016 at 11:00 am. Friends may call at the church from 9 to 11 am.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Jimmy's name to Faithful Friends, 12 Germay Dr. Wilmington, DE 19804, Delaware Humane Association, 701 A St, Wilmington, DE 19801, or Delaware Hospice, 16 Polly Drummond Road Second Floor.
