James J. Fitzgerald
(Fitz)
Age 49, died March 11, 2012 at Wilmington Hospital.
Fitz worked at the DuPont Country Club for 17 years as a manager and chef. He was a stay-at-home dad.
He played softball for the country club, and softball darts and bowling for Hamil's Pub. He enjoyed teaching his daughter how to play soccer and basketball. He loved spending time with his wife and daughter. He spent a lot of his time on the porch singing Christmas songs all year round and making the neighbors laugh. He spent a lot of his time with his daughter and her friends joking around with his strange sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy Fitzgerald of Wilmington; his daughter, Jennifer Fitzgerald of Wilmington; his sisters, Patricia Igo of Newark, and Christine Santo of Lewes; his brother, John Fitzgerald of Claymont; and his mother, Ann Fitzgerald of Elsmere.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony R. C. Church, 9th & DuPont Sts., Wilmington on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 11 a.m. Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere on Thursday morning from 9-10:30 am. Interment in Silverbrook Cemetery, Wilmington.
