Obituary
James A. Lynch Jr. of Wilmington, DE passed away on December 22, 2020 after a brief illness. He was just 2 days shy of his 94th birthday.
Jim was an employee of the News Journal for 44 years. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Elizabeth R. C. Church. Jim coached baseball for St Elizabeth Elementary School from 1948 through 1961 and won 10 of the 14 championships during that time. He also coached at St. Elizabeth High School from 1962 through 1966.
Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann; his son, Christopher; his grandson, Joel Houghton; and great-grandson, Hayden Bunner.
He is survived by his children, Jimmie (Gale),Thom (Nancy), Clare Szymanski (Mike) and Karen Phillips (Bob); his sister, Marie Freebery as well as 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be private.
