James Robert Meyer

Age 67, of Wilmington, DE died on August 26, 2013. Jim was born in Austria, and raised in Davenport, Iowa.

Jim proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp for four years and was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked for BPG Real Estate. He was an avid Philly sports fan. Jim enjoyed riding Harleys. He had a deep love for his dog Sadie.

He was the son of the late Lester and Mary Meyer of Davenport, Iowa. Jim was also preceded in death by his children, James Robert Meyer, Jr. and Nicole Renee Meyer. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Doris Jean Meyer; his beloved son, Matthew James Meyer; his brother, Joseph Meyer; and sister, Joanne Prichard of Davenport, Iowa. He will be sadly missed by all.

Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere on Thursday evening, August 29, 2013 from 6-8 pm Interment is private.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, New Castle, DE 19720.
