Obituary

James L. Parks
Age 84 of New Castle
Passed away surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, April 6, 2015.
James was born in New Castle, the 2nd of six children to the late James and Martha (Maxwell) Parks.
He served his country faithfully in the U.S Army during the Korean War. After the war James returned home and married the love of his life, Ellen, and together they raised four children. James was a dedicated employee of DuPont Chemicals, Edge Moor Branch. He retired in 1985 after 38 years of service. In his retirement, James relished spending time at his Fenwick beach home and his farmhouse in Townsend. He enjoyed trips to Delaware Park and his daily drive to the New Castle Wharf. But most of all James treasured the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Florence Connor, Elva Rusk, Janet Parks, and Alfred Parks.
James will be dearly missed by his wife of 64 years, Ellen; his children, James L. Parks (Catherine), Michael Parks (Susan), Susan Callahan (Paul), and Patrick Parks (Joanne); his 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by his brother, John Parks.
