Obituary

James Sansone, age 71, of Millsboro, formerly of Wilmington Delaware,
Passed away on Monday April 17th, surrounded by his loving family.
Jim was born on October 6, 1951, to Michael A. and Eleanor Sansone.
He enlisted in the Army right out of high school at the age of 17 and served two years in Vietnam.
Jim was a dedicated and caring nurse for over 30 years in the Delaware area. His last position, before retiring, was in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Christiana Hospital. He loved working with the babies and was proud of the special care he was able to provide these infants to give them a healthier start in life.
Jim approached everything he did with passion and intensity, including his love for sports. Jim had a love for the game of golf. He would play every chance he could and was active in golf leagues with his buddies.
He had a dry sense of humor, which was one of his most charming qualities. Jim's quick and sarcastic wit was something for which he was known. You just never knew what he was going to say!
Above all Jim loved his family. He was so proud of his sons, Chris and Andrew, and the wonderful men they had become. He was particularly proud of his granddaughter Madelyn and his grandson Cagney. He watched them grow into beautiful, caring adults. He treasured the time he spent with the newest addition to the family, grandchildren Leighton, Braeden, baby River and daughter-in-law Jenna. He also loved his dogs Duke and Finn.
Jim is survived by his wife of nearly 46 years, Judy; his sons, Christopher and fiancé Jenna Mashburn, and Andrew; his grandchildren, Madelyn and her partner, Konner Dykes, Cagney, Leighton, Braeden, and River. Jim is also survived by his sisters, Alice Crist and Carol Roca (Anthony), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Eleanor Sansone; his brother, Michael X. Sansone; his sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Paul Prusinowski and brother,-in-law Jeffrey Crist.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the committal service and military honors at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE 19701, on Tuesday, May 16 at 1:00pm.
