Obituary

" The most beautiful stones have been polished to brilliance by life's strongest storms."

Jeffrey W. Giannattasio
Age 55 of Wilmington

Passed away on March 19, 2025 from complications of a stroke in Christiana Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Jeff was the youngest child of Eileen and Joe Giannattasio. He was a skilled roofer construction worker, and painter.

Jeff enjoyed the simple things in life; good music, good sports, and good Italian food. He loved all genres of music but listening to classic rock was his favorite. Jeff enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams and was proficient in player and team statistics. His favorite time of year was early summer when the St. Anthony's Italian Festival began. Jeff treasured the memories made there with family and friends and of course all the delicious meals. He was also a Jeopardy wiz, Wheel of Fortune expert, always excelled at the News Journal puzzles, and was a huge TV and movie buff. Just some of his favorites include Trading Places, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Two and a Half Men.

Although Jeff was small in stature, you definitely knew he was in the room. He had the uncanny ability to make everyone smile and laugh. He was very loved and will be very missed.

In addition to his father, Joe, he was preceded in death by his biological parents, Angeline (Giannattasio) and Ronald Biddle; his grandparents, Earl and Elanor DiSabatino and Joe and Josephine Giannattasio; and his nephew, Michael Whelihan.

Jeff leaves behind his mother, Eileen Giannattasio; his brothers, Joey (Liz), Gary (Nicole), Ronnie (Renee), and Anthony; his sisters, Gina Giannattasio and Andrea Kirkham (Jim). He is also survived by a large extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

All services are being held privately.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for contributions to be made in Jeff's name to Faithful Friends Animal Society, 165 Airport Rd., New Castle, DE 19720.
