Joan Marie Nichols passed away on October 21, peacefully, with her family at her side.
Joan was born in Wilmington, Delaware on July 12, 1936 to the late William and Josephine Collins. She worked many years for the United States Postal Service before retiring.
She greatly enjoyed studying Victorian history but will be remembered most for creating wonderful family memories with annual visits throughout the 1970's to Lenape Park, Atlantic City Steele Pier and Lums Pond.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her sisters, Theresa Klair and Elaine Quigley.
She is survived by her daughters, Ann Marie Ferrari (John), JoAnn Nichols (Lani) and Lisa Haaf (Kenton) and her brother, William Collins (Nancy); grandchildren, Michael Nichols (Elena), Matthew Nichols (Annette), Mark Bleazard (Hina), Rebecca Kalivoda (Paul) and Scott Garvine (Victoria); great-grandchildren, Harper Kalivoda, Finn Kalivoda, Gabriel Nichols and Alice Marie Nichols; and her loving dog, Reba.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 31, fitting as Halloween was one of Joan's favorite holidays, at 1:00pm at Cathedral Cemetery, 2400 Lancaster, Avenue, Wilmington, Delaware.
