Joan M. Stansky
Age 59 of New Castle
Passed away in her home on Friday, March 18, 2016.
Joan attended Holy Spirit Elementary School and was a member of the 2nd graduation class of St. Mark's High School in 1974. After high school she went on to study at Villanova University, graduating in 1978. She complete her law degree in 1990 from Widener School of Law.
Joan worked in the Attorney General's office until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Stansky; her sister, Kate; and her grandparents, Marie and Wallace Cannon and Katherine and Benjamin Stansky.
Joan will be dearly missed by her mother, Marie "Sis" Stansky; her brothers, Greg Stansky (Andi) and Barney Stansky; her nephew, Dan Stansky of Hawaii; and her niece Celia Gons of Newark.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church 5th and Harmony St., New Castle, DE 19720, on Wed March 30, 2016 at 11:00 am. Friends may call at the church from 10:00-11:00 am. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers the family asks contributions in Joan's name to St. Peter Church Roof Restoration, 5th and Harmony St., New Castle, DE 19720.
