Obituary
John W. Banaszak passed away on Sat., Jan. 11, 2014 at Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care at Christiana Hospital.
John was born in Wilmington, Delaware. He graduated from Wilmington High School in 1952. He was an engineer at Verizon, and retired in 1987 after 35 years of service.
He was a member of St. John the Beloved, where he was an usher for the last two years. He enjoyed woodworking crafts after retirement. He enjoyed watching old movies, going to casinos, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with his family.
John is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean (D'Agostino) Banaszak; his sons, Ken (Janet), Mark (Carla), Steven (Laurie); his daughter, Lisa Lewis (Leroy); 8 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
Relatives and friends are invited to Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, on Friday., Jan. 17, 2014, from 09:30-11:00 am. The service will take place at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
