John Frederick Boyle, 80, of New Castle, De, passed away on August 26th, 2021, after a brief illness.
John was born on January 1st, 1941, to John F Boyle Sr. and Josephine Donahue in Paterson, NJ. After graduating from Central High School in Paterson, he enlisted in the US Army from 1960 to 1962 serving at Fort Hood, Texas and Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.
John married Joan Vilardi on March 9th, 1963, going on to have five children. They remained together for 58 years.
From 1969-1975, John was the owner of Johnny's Taxi on Lakeside Avenue in Pompton Lakes, NJ. It was a true family business employing his wife Joan, mother Josephine, sister Kathy, brother Jimmy and his wife Ginger Hinchman and Ginger's father Fred.
In the early 1990's John and his family moved to Security, CO near his sister Marlene, working for Apple Computer and as a civilian at Fort Carson, CO. He loved the Colorado climate but missed the east coast. He eventually came back east, moving to Delaware working for MBNA.
After retiring he loved spending time with friends at Delaware Park Racetrack and Atlantic City, NJ. Growing up in the New York Area, he remained a hardcore New York Giants fan throughout his life.
John was predeceased by his parents, John and Josephine; his brothers, James and Patrick; his sister, Kathleen Franco; his nephew, James Boyle; and his niece, Carol Boyle.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; son, John and his wife Janice Mullen-Boyle; daughters, Patricia, Lorraine, Kelly and Colleen; granddaughters, Alexandra Boyle (Kevin Zhou), Jazmin Boyle and Grace Boyle; grandsons, Andrew Carr and John Boyle; two great-grandchildren, Asher and Ezra Zhou; her sister, Marlene Bardi and her husband, Michael Bardi; brother-in-law, Joseph Franco; sister-in-law, Virginia Docherty (nee' Hinchman). As well as numerous nieces and nephews along with their families.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, September 7 at 12:00 pm at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 901 N. Dupont Street, Wilmington, DE 19805. Interment will be private.
