John Benedict Davis, age 54, of New Castle, DE passed way unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at his home.

John was born in Wilmington, DE the son of the late Donald E. Davis and Norma B. Davis.

John graduated from Mt Pleasant High School in 1986. Upon graduation, he enrolled in culinary classes at Delaware Technical and Community College and began a long and successful career in cooking, most recently with Spectra Food Services at Subaru Park, home of the Philadelphia Union in Chester, PA. John was also an accomplished ice carver for both work and pleasure. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. John was an avid sports fan, especially Philadelphia sports teams and University of Oklahoma as well as mixed martial arts and professional wrestling. Not only was John a cook by profession, he loved to cook, especially for his family and friends…and he was good at it.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Paul W. Davis and brother-in-law, Leonard H. "Lenny" Mulford.

John is survived by sister-in-law, Darlene Slaughter of Newark, DE; sister, Carol A. Mulford of Wilmington, DE; brothers, George F. Newberry-Davis (Jan) of Lawton, OK and Mark E. Davis (Kenneth H. McMullen) of Long Pond, PA; two nieces, a nephew and two great-nieces.

Visitation will be on Monday, October 25, 2021, 6:00PM to 7:00PM at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE, followed by a short service at 7:00PM.
