Passed away at home on Thursday, March 3, 2016.
John proudly served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam in the 101st Airborne Division. He was a Purple Heart recipient during his service in Vietnam. He was an Anchor Motor Freight Local 326 teamster, and his second career was at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Elsmere. John was a Master Mason of the Christiana Lodge No. 35, as well as a life long member at the Local V.F.W.
He was a handyman and took pride in his home. He was an avid fan of the Yankees, Raiders, and Notre Dame.
John is survived by his children, John G. Fleming and his wife, Dominique, and Lynsey Fleming; his grandchildren, Alec, Paige, and Grace; his mother, Elizabeth Fleming; his former wife, Marguerite Fleming-Smith; and his dog, Lily,
Relatives and friends are invited to the Service at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Highway, Elsmere, on Tuesday, March 8, at 7:00 pm. A visitation will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00-7:00 pm. Burial will be private.
