John A. Marini
Age 86, of Wilmington, DE passed away on Friday, January 15, 2010 at Christiana Hospital.
Mr. Marini was born in Piedilama, Italy, son of the late Salvatore and Josephine Marini. He was a proud World War II veteran and served in the 96th Infantry Division, Invasion of Leyete, Phillippines and Okinawa, Japan. He retired from Acme Markets in 1980.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Marini; and sister, Yolanda Oros. He is survived by his two daughters, Joanne Scott and her husband Jay, and Sharon Marini; a brother, Mario Marini and his wife Joyce; a sister, Jeanette Henry and her husband John; and of course his best buddies, Moe and Muffie; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi R. C. Church, 901 New Rd., Elsmere on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere on Thursday morning from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Interment in All Saints Cemetery, Newark.
