Obituary

Joe Pukatsch, age 79, passed away March 30th, 2026 at Wilmington Hospital in Wilmington Delaware after various prolonged illnesses.

Joe was born June 6th, 1946 , in Germany, a son of the late Wolodymir and Olena Pukatsch.

Joe served his country in the United States Army for three years during the Vietnam War. He met Katherine Ziolkowski and was married in 1971. In 1974 they had their son Joseph and in 1976, daughter Stacey joined the family.

Joe was a bricklayer by trade and started his company Brickworks Inc in the mid 80s. After closing the business he joined the Brick Layers Union #1 and worked through them and various other companies until his retirement in 2012.

Joe enjoyed many things in life including visiting the casinos, thrift shopping, old horror movies, The Three Stooges and televised wrestling.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Michael and Stephan.

He is survived by the love of his life, Katherine; his children Joseph and Stacey; his two grandchildren Coralynn and Jason; and the absolute joy of his days great-grandson Weston.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Joe at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilm., DE 19805, on Tuesday, April 14 at 12:30 pm. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:30 am -12:30 pm. Burial and military honors will take place at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE 19701, at 2:00 pm.
