Josephine George
Age 89, of Wilmington, DE, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Brandywine Nursing Home.
Josephine was a loving and strong willed mother who was very protective of her family. Some of her greatest joys were spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchild.
Josephine worked as a hairdresser prior to starting her family and enjoyed playing bingo with her sister, Lea.
She was a member of Corpus Christi R. C. Church.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary (Lea) Marconi, and Lucille (Lucy) McGowan; and her brothers, Anthony, John, and Francis. She is survived by her sons, Thomas (Kathy), and Andrew (Paula); her daughters, Theresa and Pamela; her sister, Ann Lam; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Maria, Keith, and Grant; and her great grandson, Ian.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of Brandywine Nursing Home and Compassionate Care for their many kindnesses to Mrs. George.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi R. C. Church, 901 New Rd., Elsmere, on Monday, October 1, 2012 at 10:30 am. Friends may call at the church from 9:45-10:30 am Monday morning. Interment in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.
