Josephine "Josie" Catherine Vitsorek
Age 95, Josephine "Josie" Vitsorek, of Elsmere, died September 4, 2011 at Shipley Manor Nursing Home.
Born in Lansford, PA on August 30, 1916, she was the daughter of Constantine and Stephanie nee Kociolek. She moved to Elsmere, DE in 1954 with her husband Tony, where she resided for 58 years. In her younger years she was employed as a seamstress. Josie also took great pride in being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was seldom seen without a lollipop in her hand and a child on her lap. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Josie was also preceded in death by her husband, Anthony 'Tony' Vitsorek who died in 1969; her daughter, Connie Vitsorek who died in 1999; and her son, Joseph 'Joey' Vitsorek who died in 2006.
She is survived by her son, John K. Vitsorek and his wife Karen of Ocean View, DE; her 3 grandchildren, Jay Vitsorek and his wife Susannah of Middletown, DE, John A. Vitsorek and his wife Amy of Wilmington, DE, and Carolyn Vitsorek of Elsmere, DE; her five great-grandchildren: Travis, Maggie, Brett, William, and Ryan.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Compassionate Care Hospice and the entire staff at Shipley Manor Nursing Home.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi R.C Church, 901 New Road, Elsmere, DE on Friday, September 9, 2011 at 11:00am. Friends may call at the church from 10:00am to 11:00am. Interment in the All Saints Cemetery, Newark.
