Known to most as Evadney, Juliet Evadney Konata was born to the late Annie Adela Ruth Allicock and Winston Henry Allicock in Christianburg, Linden, Guyana. Evadney attended Christianburg Elementary School and continued her education at Oriental College in Georgetown, Guyana where she and her family relocated to and obtained her high school diploma. While in Georgetown, Evadney married her late husband Osai Konata in 1982. Together they ran a successful business until 1995 when she immigrated to the United States of America.
Evadney lived in New Castle, Delaware. She obtained her GED from Delaware Technical Community College. She also obtained her certification as a CNA and worked in the health care industry until 2021.
Evadney was a caring and lovable sibling to her 10 brothers and sisters as well as her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She also loved to cook and entertain her family and friends. As a woman of God, Evadney was the epitome of a "good and faithful servant." She was a dedicated member of New Heart Ministries where she was known as Deaconess Evadney. She also served as the Hospitality Manager and was a warm and welcoming usher. Evadney was willing to take on any task big or small. Members will remember her heart for God, her gift for making everyone feel special, her conversations in and out of church as well as her delicious cooking and baking.
Evadney leaves behind her beloved siblings, Author (Valerie) Allicock, Milton (Marlene) Allicock, Cleveland (Myrna) Allicock, Henry (Sandra) Allicock, Desiree Allicock and Daphne (Roger) Phillips; a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, relatives and faithful friends.
The impact she left will be everlasting; she will be cherished forever. MAY HER SOUL REST IN ETERNAL PEACE.
