Katherine L. Napoleon
Age 74 of New Castle
Passed away at home on June 12, 2023.
Kay was born on September 30, 1948, to the late Aloysius E. and Ruth (Proud) Linus. She was a proud member of the 1966 graduating class of William Penn High School. This was the last class to graduate from the old building. Kay continued her education at the St. Francis School of Nursing earning her RN in 1969. She put her education to good use and worked her entire career in health care, starting at St. Francis Hospital before transitioning to public health and finally 20 years of dedicated service to Dr. John F. Gehret.
In 1973 Kay married the love her of life, Angelo Napoleon, and together they shared 39 years of marriage, living in New Castle and raising their sons.
She was the most doting mother. Kay supported her sons in all their ventures big and small. She was so proud of their William Penn Football accomplishments. She was always the loudest fan in the stadium when they played. When her sons weren't playing football, Kay enjoyed cheering on her Green Bay Packers and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. Kay was also a student of history and greatly cherished the opportunities she had to travel, especially her 30th wedding anniversary trip to Disney World.
In addition to her parents, she as preceded in death by her husband, Angelo in 2012, and her brother, David Linus in 1978.
Kay will be dearly missed by her sons, Steven and Gregory, and her brother, James Linus (Joyce). She is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to the graveside service at Glebe Cemetery, 1 Glebe Rd., New Castle, DE 19720, on Friday, Jun 16, at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions to be made in Kay's name to the Helen Graham Cancer Center or Gift of Life.
