Passed away at home on April 18, 2026.
Kathy was born to the late John and Betty (Millman) Speakman and grew up in Wilmington with her 8 siblings. She was a proud graduate of Corpus Christi Grade School and High School.
In 1981 Kathy began her career with the State of Delaware. She was a dedicated employee and was passionate about helping individuals through her work in the Medicaid department.
On May 10, 1986, Kathy married the love of her life, Pat Walsh. Together they shared forty years of love and happiness.
She was a devout Catholic and member of the Holy Rosary Society at St. Hedwig R.C. Church. Kathy was also a life member of the Elsmere Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, where she served as Vice President.
In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her 5 siblings.
She will be greatly missed by her doting husband, Patrick Walsh; her loving children, Robert Walter and Savannah Vandever; and her cherished best friend, Mimi. Kathy is also survived by her siblings, Judy Shaw (Mark), Karen Speakman, and Tom Speakman (Billie), as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Thursday, Apr 23 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilm., DE 19805. A second viewing will take place on Friday, Apr 24 from 10:00am-11:00am at St. Hedwig R.C. Church, 410 S. Harrison St., Wilm., DE 19805. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00am with interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions be made in Kathy's name to the Diabetes Foundation or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
