Kathleen Meadows
Age 81 of Wilmington, DE

Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on October 14, 2024.

Kathleen was born in Wilmington to the late Frank and Barbara (Bramble) Harrison, Jr. She was a proud 1961 graduate of Conrad High School. On November 9, 1963, Kathleen married the love of her life, John Meadows. Together they shared 61 years of love and happiness raising their family.

Kathleen worked for several years as an assistant nurse for Dr. Mildred Forman in the 1960s. She also worked as an outside typist for DuPont for many years. Kathleen was a lifelong member of Elsmere Presbyterian Church. She was very active in the church, becoming an Elder as well as Sunday School teacher. However, Kathleen's true calling was to be a wife and mother. She cherished her role as homemaker and everything she did was for the betterment of her family.

Kathleen was an extremely talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing in her down time. She loved all kinds of animals and made sure the neighborhood cats, birds, squirrels, and foxes all had a meal in her backyard.
To say Kathleen was an avid traveler would be an understatement. She loved to immerse herself in a new and difficult culture. She and her husband took many trips abroad including Germany, Sweden, and Norway. Their adventures didn't stop in Europe they visited Australia and many island nations, including Bermuda, Bora Bora, Tahiti, the British Isles and most of the Caribbean. She loved to spend time camping and in their motor home Kathleen and John visited all 50 states.

In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Kevin Finucan.
She is survived by her husband, John Meadows; daughter, Raynell Finucan; grandsons, Ian Hoffman (Nichole) and Alexander Hoffman (Courtney); and her great-grandchildren, Liam and Adeline. Kathleen will also be dearly missed by many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service for Kathleen at Elsmere Presbyterian Church, 606 New Rd., Wilm., DE 19805, on Friday, October 18. Friends may call at the church from 10:00am-11:00am. Interment will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions to be made to Elsmere Presbyterian Church.
