Kelly Ann (Cox) Scott
Age 49, passed away peacefully at home on June 19, 2014.
Born in New Castle, DE, Kelly attended St. Peter School in New Castle and graduated from St. Mark's High School. She was a member of the Tac Club, St. Anthony's Club, and St. Gabriel's Club in New Castle, where she enjoyed many years of great times with her many family and friends. She was known to be the life of the party, until her illness got the best of her. When Kelly walked in a room, her warm and friendly personality shinned through.
Kelly loved watching her favorite football teams, the Dallas Cowboys and Notre Dame, and was always known to have all her gear on each game day. She loved and looked forward to her family vacations in Ocean City, MD.
Her favorite holiday was Christmas, when she went all out to make sure everyone had a wonderful day. She enjoyed baking and making candies, and always offered a hand to her friends and family for any occasion.
Kelly loved her Irish heritage. She would always prepare weeks in advance for St. Paddy's Day. Even with her illness, she carried out the family tradition of "starting at breakfast" with her entire family and friends on both parade day and St. Patrick's Day.
Kelly was thrilled to have her sweet grandson, Conor, in her life. Although her illness sometimes limited her ability to keep up with his 2 year old energy, she pushed herself to enjoy every minute she had with him. She loved taking him to Battery Park, most recently taking him to celebrate Separation Day in Old New Castle. He was the apple of her eye.
She joins many angels in Heaven including her Pop Pop Feenie (Felix McCafferty), Uncle Bobby (Robert Fuller), Uncle Butch (Butch Watson), father-in-law, John Scott,
Aunt Pat (Patricia Wright) and cousin Colleen (Colleen Andes) along with many other angels.
Kelly is survived by her husband Kevin, whom loved and cared for her deeply; her parents, Harry and Helen (McCafferty) Cox; her children, Andrew Pearce and Patricia Hawkins; her grandson, Conor; her grandmother, Helen (Alfree) McCafferty; Aunt Joyce (McCafferty) Fuller, Uncle Franny McCafferty of Florida, Aunt Gwen (McCafferty) Watson; many cousins, including Robert (Bob) Fuller, Patty(Fuller) Clark, and Kathleen Fuller; her mother-in-law, Ann Scott; many nieces and nephews; her loving dog, Kasey, who was by her side until the end; many friends, including Jeanne Price and Debbie Reynolds. Many more aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends will dearly miss her.
The family would like to extend many thanks to Dr. Gregory Papa and staff for many years of care and support.
