In Loving Memory of Lorraine Foster
September 18, 1946 – June 22, 2025
Lorraine Foster, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 22, 2025, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She was 78.
Lorraine was truly one of a kind—a kind-hearted, generous soul who made everyone she met feel like family. Her ability to listen with compassion, offer wise advice, and see the good in all people made her a cherished presence in so many lives. To know Lorraine was to feel loved, understood, and uplifted.
A nurse through and through, Lorraine lived a life of service marked by integrity, empathy, and tireless dedication. She earned her RN from Delaware Technical Community College and went on to receive a Master's degree in Human Services from Lincoln University. Her career was filled with purpose and pride, including her many years working at Connections and her role as Director of Nursing at The Arbors, just to name a few. Following the events of September 11th, Lorraine didn't hesitate to volunteer her services in New York City, exemplifying her deep sense of duty and heart for others.
Outside of her professional life, Lorraine found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved to shop, had a deep devotion to her family, and especially delighted in spoiling her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents James McGuire and Dorethea McGuire and her beloved husband, Joseph P. Foster Jr. She is survived by her loving children, Alexandra and Michael Watson; her daughter-in-law, Judy; and her cherished grandchildren, Ava Renee, Ava Nicole, and Michael. She also leaves behind her stepdaughters, Heather (Alex) and Dana, and grandchildren Jason, Nicolette, and Jackson. Lorraine was deeply loved by many friends, who often thought of her as a second mother.
Lorraine's light, love, and legacy will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
We also appreciate and thank everyone from Bayada Hospice for their empathy, compassion and kindness.
