Age 25 of Wilmington

Marcus passed away at home on February 3, 2020.

He was born in Wilmington, DE on August 24, 1994. He was a lifelong resident of Delaware but recently spent time in Cumming, GA before returning home earlier this year.

During his childhood Marcus was a Boy Scout. He enjoyed playing football and basketball. But Marcus's real talent was making people laugh. He had a smile that would lighten up any room and a way of making everyone feel that they belonged.

As much joy as Marcus brought to his friends and family, he also struggled, as many do, with addiction. He battled for 10 years but unfortunately on Monday he lost his fight.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Tom Blackiston, Vic Holveck, and Joseph Fest, and his uncle, Ron Lyons.

Marcus will be dearly missed by his daughter, Isabella; his parents, Julie Blackiston-Holveck and her husband, Steve, Harry Lyons Jr. and Jacquelynn Navert-Lyons; his siblings, Erin, Cecelia, Kyle, Luke, and Hailee; his niece, Paisley; his grandparents, Francine Blackiston, Kathy Fest, and Harry and Marge Lyons, his aunts, and uncles, Scott (Brenda), Jennifer (Dale), Victor, Louis (Elijah), John (Amy); cousins, Gabrielle, Gavinn, Madison, Blake, Chloe, Chase, Charlie, and Layla; and a loving extended family.

Relatives and friends are invited in attend the service for Marcus at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilm., DE 19805, on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 11:00am. A viewing will take place at the funeral home on Monday, February 10, 2020 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Interment will be private.
