Obituary

Passed away on
Saturday, May 16, 2015 at home surrounded by her family.
Peggy was born and raised in Old New Castle. She taught at both St. Peter's and Ursuline Academy. In 2008 she and her husband, Ronnie, moved to Lewes. Peggy was very active in the Lewes Yacht Club, serving on many committees and as a former Secretary and Rear Commodore on the board. She also volunteered her time at St. Peter's Parish Council, Arasapha Garden Club, and Ursuline Academy.
Peggy loved smocking and started a smocking group called the Diamond State Stitchers, in Wilmington, DE. Her true passion was spending time with her family, especially her grandson, Jack.
Peggy will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Ronnie J. Kernehan; her daughter, Colleen K. Best (Andrew); and grandson, Jackson T. Best. She is also survived by her brothers, Thomas P. Sheridan and James V. Sheridan.
Her family would like to thank VITAS Hospice for the amazing care and support that they gave to Peggy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Edmond's R.C. Church, 401 King Charles Ave. Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971, on Thurs, May 21 at 11:00am.
