Margaret J. "Pearl" Maxwell
Nee Murphy

Age 82, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Sunrise Assisted Living.

Margaret immigrated from Charlemont May Co. Tyrone, Northern Ireland in 1954.

She retired in 2002 after many years as an employee of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund M. Carpenter, III.

Margaret was an avid thoroughbred horse racing enthusiast . Her greatest joy was being with her family. She loved playing cards and enjoyed Irish music.

She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Evaline (Clarke) Murphy. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Gladys Stratton; her brother, Frank Murphy; and her former husband, Ronald E. Maxwell. She is survived by her children, Mary Ann (Maxwell) D'Amico; Michael J. Maxwell and his wife Kimberly, Kenneth E. Maxwell and his wife Jacqueline; her brothers and sisters, Ernie Murphy, Elizabeth Bowman, Carrie Rowe, John Murphy, Elsie Cromie, and Bertie Murphy; and her beloved grandchildren, Michael, Cara, and Kyle.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann's R. C. Church, Gilpin Ave. & Union St., Wilmington, on Wednesday, October 13th at 11 a.m. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Interment in The Moy Cemetery Co. Tyrone, Northern Ireland.
