Obituary
Margaret K. McQuaid, age 86, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at the residence she shared with her husband Frank at Millcroft.
Born in Wilmington, DE she was the daughter of the late Carl and Margaret (Quinn) Krienen. Margaret was a member of the first graduating class of St. Elizabeth's High School. After graduating High School, she went to work for DuPont Company as an Administrative Assistant. In 1953, she married Frank J. McQuaid and dedicated her time to raising her three children. She later held Administrative positions for The Oblates of St Francis DeSales and the Radisson Hotel. She was a former member of the Junior Board at St. Francis Hospital, and an active member of St. Elizabeth's Alumni Association.
Margaret cared deeply for her family and took pride in providing a warm and loving home. She enjoyed reading, knitting, playing cards, spending time with family and friends, and loved spending time at her beach home in South Bethany.
She was preceded in death by her brother, William J. Krienen II and his wife Helen (O'Brien); sister-in-law Nancy (McQuaid) Krienen; and brother-in-law, Gifford W. Nowland.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years Frank J. McQuaid; two daughters, Martha A. McQuaid, and Mary Louise Malloy (Kevin); and one son, F. John (Debbie); and five grandchildren, Bryan Malloy, Sean Malloy, Mark Malloy, Sam McQuaid, and Anna Quinn McQuaid; and brother, Carl H. Krienen.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph on the Brandywine R. C. Church, Barley Mill Rd., Greenville on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 10:30 am. Friends may call at the church from 9:30-10:30 am Monday morning. Interment in adjoining cemetery.
