Margaret (Susi) Turko

Age 80 passed away peacefully on Friday, August 6, 2010 at Cadia Pike Creek.

Margaret was a nurse at the Delaware State Hospital for over 30 years.

Margaret was born and raised in the Shawtown section of New Castle. She was a lifetime member of the St. Peter's Parish in New Castle. Margaret was a member of the St. Peter's Church Choir and had a lifelong love of music and performed at many weddings, family gatherings, and funerals. She was a member of the St. Anthony's Club in New Castle.

Margaret's family would like to thank the firefighters and police officers that helped Margaret during and after the tragedy that occurred in February of 2009, especially New Castle City Police Dept. Pfc. Elliott Singleton for his care and compassion.

Margaret was the daughter of the late Philip and Esterina (Camelli) Susi. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Stephen J. Turko, Jr.; her sister, Josephine Susi; and her brother, Philip "Lefty" Susi. She is survived by her children, Stephen J. Turko, III and his wife Bonnie, Frank Turko and his wife Barbara, David R. Turko and his wife Sharon, Deborah G. Finney and her husband Gary, Cynthia J. Zern and her husband William; and Doreen J. Turko; her beloved 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; her brothers, Felix and Peter Susi; and her sister, Phyllis Talmo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter's R. C. Church, 5th & Harmony Sts., New Castle, on Monday, August 9th at 11 a.m. Friends may call at St. Peter's R. C. Church, Monday morning, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interment in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle.
