Obituary

Marguerite M." Peggy" (O'Donnell) Kane
Age 98 of Elsmere
Passed away peacefully at home on December 20, 2022.
Peggy was born and raised in Wilmington. She was a proud 1942 graduate of Wilmington High School. After graduation she worked at Danforth's Drug Store and later General Motors, until she retired to raise her family. She was a lifelong member of Corpus Christi Parish. Peggy was the last surviving member of the Elsmere Golden Girls.
Peggy loved sharing her detailed stories about the historical events and experiences that occurred during her lifetime. Peggy also loved to travel. It didn't matter if it was a day bus trip to New York to see a Broadway musical or weeklong vacations to Wildwood or Dewey Beach, she always had the best time and was happy for the adventure. She enjoyed listening to music, especially Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Tony Bennett. In recent years she loved to keep up with current events watching ABC Action News every morning, afternoon, and evening. She also looked forward to her Thursday hair appointments with Lisa. But most of all Peggy loved her family. It didn't matter what they were doing as long as they were sharing time together.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Hoppy" Kane, Sr; her children, Charles "Chuck" Kane, Jr. and Marguerite Kane; and her brother, Daniel O'Donnell.
Peggy will be dearly missed by her daughters, Mary Ann Leonardi (Tony) and Kathleen Kane; her grandchildren, Anthony (Kat) and Kaitlyn (Joe); and her great grandpets, Bubba, Marvin, Millie, Jameson and Vader. She is also survived by her sisters, Rosemary Banack (Eddie) and Joan Larnick, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, Dec 28, 2022, at Corpus Christi R.C. Church, 901 New Rd., Wilm., DE, at 11:00am. Friends may call at church from 10:00am-11:00am. Interment will take place at All Saints Cemetery.
The family would also like to thank Delaware Hospice for their care and support.
In Lieu of flowers the family asks contributions to be made in Peggy's name to the Food Bank of Delaware or Sunday Breakfast Mission
