Marie T. Barry
Age 85, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her family on November 14, 2011 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
A native Delawarean, Miss Barry was born on December 31, 1925. She was employed 42 years at the Bank of Delaware as an Estate Settlement Officer, retiring in 1985. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling around the States, playing the slots in Atlantic City and Delaware Park, and going to theaters locally and in the Lancaster area. She was an avid reader and loved spending time with her family. Marie was a very religious person and had a deep devotion to St. John Newmann.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Barry; sister, Theresa Stepnowski, and loving company of 50 years, Louis Deldeo. Marie is survived by her brother, Leonard Barry (Joann), sister-in-law, Gertrude Barry; nieces and nephews, Frank Stepnowski, Lisa MacLennan (Rob), Kevin, Thomas, and Jennifer Barry, Lucy Stepnowski, and Kathy Wismer (Carl); great nieces and nephew, Kathleen and Celena Stepnowski, Kate MacLennan, and Thomas Nicholas Barry; and great great niece, Juliana Russo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony of Padua R. C. Church, 901 N. DuPont St., Wilmington on Thursday, November 17th at 11 a.m. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday morning. Interment in the St. Joseph on the Brandywine Cemetery, Wilmington.
