Marie S. Dugan

Marie Salter Dugan, age 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at St. Francis Compassionate Care Hospice. She was the loving wife of John W. Dugan with whom she shared 66 years of marriage and multiple and beloved animals.

A life-long member of St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Parish, Marie graduated from St. Peter's High School in 1941.
Marie worked at the DuPont Company for 34 years as an Executive Administrative Assistant retiring in 1978.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, David M. Salter, Sr. and Antoinette Farnen Salter; her brothers, George Clark, Jr., Elwood S. Salter, James D. Salter and David M. Jr.; and her mother and father-in-law, John and Bea Dugan.

Marie is survived by her husband, John; her sister-in-laws, Kay Salter and Patricia Salter Flynn, her nieces and nephews, James D. Salter (Lisbeth), David M. Salter (Linda), Deborah Salter Cuomo (Mark), Dianne P. Salter, David Paul Salter (Kevin), Dennis M. Salter (Beth), Daniel J. Salter and Douglas J. Salter (Denise), and her great-nieces and nephews, Kimberly A. Brandt, Suzanne E. Salter, Jeffrey M. Salter, Sean D. McLaughlin, Shannon P. McLaughlin, David M. Salter, III, Anthony W. Gee-Salter, Andrew Salter, Nicholas R. Gee-Salter, Rebecca Salter, Rachel Salter, Allison Salter and Meghan Salter

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, 5th & Harmony Streets, New Castle, on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 11:00 am. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening, August 16 from 6pm -7 pm at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 34 West 6th St., New Castle, and also Wednesday morning, August 17 from 10:00am -11:00am at the church. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, Dupont Pkwy., New Castle.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marie may be made to St. Peter's Gym Renovation Project, 521 Harmony St., New Castle, DE 19720, or St. Francis Compassionate Care Hospice, 702B Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, DE 19805.
