Marie R. Monaghan

Left this world peacefully on Sunday, March 28, 2010 surrounded by her loving family.

Marie was born September 16, 1952. She was a graduate of William Penn High School. She held a variety of positions during her 30 year career, starting with the State of Delaware, Shearson Lehman, and Chase Bank.

Marie was an avid animal lover, who volunteered her time at the Delaware Humane Assn. She loved her dog and faithful companion, Maddie.

Marie was preceded in death by her father, Paul A. Monaghan Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother and caregiver, Patricia M. Monaghan of Wilmington; her sisters, Patti Monaghan of Wilmington, Sharon Porter and her husband Howard of Wilmington, Nancy Nardo and her husband Dominick of Wilmington; and her brothers, Paul A. Monaghan, Jr. of Wilmington, and Mark Monaghan and his wife Janice of Palmetto, FL. She is also survived by her beautiful nieces, Kerry and Trish Porter, Erin, Colleen and Kelly Monaghan. A special thank you to her devoted friends, Mrs. Donna Avallone, and Mrs. Anne Cameron, who gave Marie all the care and support she needed during her illness.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Marie's life at St. Elizabeth R. C. Church, Oak & Claytons Sts., on Monday, April 5th at 11 a.m. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday morning. Interment is private.
