Obituary

Mark Jeffrey Kamalski

Age 46, died suddenly on Friday, March 20, 2009 at approximately 3 pm as he was traveling to visit a well- loved family friend.

Mark was born on July 1st, 1962 in Wilmington, DE to the late Henry and Sarah Kamalski, and was lovingly raised as the youngest of four children in New Castle, DE. Mark was a dedicated father, husband, brother, and friend. Mark's biggest interest in his life was his family. He never missed an opportunity to spend time with his children and enjoyed an abiding friendship with his sister, Karen.

Mark was a Teamster (Local 326) employed by Yellow Freight, now, YRC for the past 16 years. Mark loved anything to do with motors as well as any new electronic gadget on the market. He enjoyed taking his children to the beach and jet skiing locally. He very much enjoyed four wheeling with his son. Mark would never hesitate to work schedules, no matter how tiring, that would give him the most time to spend with his children. Mark was a giver and many people and organizations benefited from his warm heart. He was a member of the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital family and a constant giver to the Blood Bank of Delaware. Mark could fix almost anything and many have benefited from this natural gift. Mark was also an avid reader of the news and an active member of the NRA.

Mark was preceded in death by both parents, Henry and Sally Kamalski, as well as his older brothers, Gary and Kenny Kamalski. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Dean Schafer. He is survived by his loving wife, Janice Kamalski of Middletown, and their two children, Kelly Lynn, age 15, and Luke Edward, age 9. He is also survived by his sister, Karen Schafer of Newark, one niece, Lauryn Schafer, and one nephew, Paul Kamalski.

Our shock and sadness over losing Mark, the outpouring of love from family and friends, and the inner strength and beauty of his children are a testament to his life. We miss him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle R. C. Church, 5th and Harmony Sts., New Castle, on Thurs., March 26, at 1:00 pm. Relatives and friends may call at the church from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm Thursday. Interment will be in Glebe Cemetery, New Castle.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
