Obituary

Mary (Harwanko) Bilecki
Died peacefully on September 27, 2012 at the Franciscan Care Center surrounded by her family. She was born August 3, 1921 in Ukraine. In 1948 she emigrated to the United States from Germany with her husband, Michael, and son, Milton.
Mary was a devoted member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church and was a member of the Apostleship of Prayer. Mary shared her baking and cooking skills at the church's many fund raisers and dinners. She and her husband enjoyed dancing and singing and she had an excellent singing voice. They both spent many enjoyable summers at their summer home in Wildwood, NJ. After coming to the United States she was employed by many local factories the last one being Ludlow.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Michael. She is survived by her son, Milton T. and his wife Margaret of New Castle; three grandchildren, Margaret M. Lacinski and her husband Michael, Antoinette M. Knotts and her husband Walter, and Michael J. Bilecki and his wife Deanna; three great grandchildren, Shelby and Shannon Knotts, and Nicholas Bilecki. Mary is also survived by relatives in Ukraine.
Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church at 10:30 am. There will be a visitation at the church before the Liturgy beginning at 9:30 am. Interment in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.
